Escalation: Settlers Torch Vehicles and Homes in West Bank
Overnight between Sunday and Monday, far-right Jewish settlers raided the Palestinian villages of Ras Karkar and Deir Abu Mashal near Ramallah, torching tractors, vehicles and other structures and spraying graffiti on buildings. The messages included “Revenge,” “Happy holiday from the happy Jews,” and “Regards to Bluth,” a reference to Central Command chief Maj.-Gen. Avi Bluth.
In Deir Abu Mashal, attackers set a car ablaze and tried to ignite a house while a family was inside. Israel Police opened an investigation and prepared forensic teams to enter the villages with army escorts to collect evidence; no suspects or arrests had been announced.
