New Actor: Vance Acknowledges Cruz's Presidential Plans
“It is really obvious to me that, at this very moment, Ted Cruz is running for president,” Vice President JD Vance said in an interview Thursday aboard Air Force Two. He added that, at this moment, he is not running and is focused on helping elect Republicans.
Cruz has been signaling interest, saying it’s no secret he wants to be president and recently arguing that Vance hasn’t locked down the 2028 nomination and he wants to be part of the discussion. Vance’s remarks put him on record naming Cruz as an active 2028 contender while casting himself as not yet a candidate.
